wedding weekend

last weekend we were in LA for my brothers wedding.  it was so wonderful.  a magical day. will post more later.

Chicago Weekend (Day 4)

Our final day in Chicago. Turns out that Leslie was also in town visiting friends this weekend. So we met up and had brunch at Lula Cafe.

Mimosas!

Leslie ordered the graham cracker griddle cakes. It was like having smores for breakfast.

I ordered the chorizo and new potato hash. Delicious!

After we ran an errand at the Art Institute, we drove 23 miles out of Chicago to Arlington Heights to go to Mitsuwa Chicago. I think it is the biggest Japanese Market in the Midwest. I really miss all my markets out here.

We had a late lunch at the food court.  I ordered from Santouka. The usual.

Chicago Weekend (Day 3)

We visited the Museum of Cotemporary Art Chicago. The museum store is supposed to be the best store in the US.

I never realize how much I like being home unless I've been somewhere really different for a while. -Juno

we are heading to Oklahoma for the weekend.  Adam's dad is hosting an engagement party for us.  we are both pretty nervous. Hope you are having a good birthday!

weeked roadtrip

initially, we wanted to do a weekend in traverse city in northern michigan. i guess this is the best time of the year to check out the foliage. the rainy weather made us change our plans. we decided to go to troy, michigan near detroit for a shopping excursion. oh happy day.
first stop is 7eleven for some coffee.we arrive in troy, michigan a little over two hours (can you imagine two hours to a major mall?)

after six hours of shopping and running into a fellow cmu professor we decide to have dinner in troy. we stop at alibi's for a pizza. apparently, this place was on oprah for something? the wait is about 20minutes so we hang out at the bar. the people next to us ordered a vegetarian looking pizza and looks so good. i know what i am getting.
it was soo good. plus we ordered the alibi's famous greek salad. it really was a great after shopping trip..
