LA LA Land

Just came back from a whirlwind trip from Los Angeles.  It was a solo one since Adam had taken a lot of days off from work the past couple of months he didn't want to miss anymore.  

I was in town to celebrate my nephew-to-be.  The first in our little family.  We are so happy.

I also got to see a lot of people.  I have friends who want to see me! haha

It was a busy and fun trip.  I love LA (but just to visit).

Just came back from a whirlwind of a trip from LA.  Adam is really happy.  Ben took two days off from work to hang out with us.  I was such a third wheel.

I just got back from a quick trip to Los Angeles. This was a good trip. People wanted to hang out with me! I actually have friends!

I thought Adam would have a great time catching up on reading and TV back in Michigan. He ended up working too much and he missed me. Can you believe it?

Whenever I go home on my own, I don't want to leave.  I even got a little teary-eyed at the airport. I wish home was a little closer (but not too close). :)

is that guy famous?

we had brunch at madame matisse a few days. in walks a dude i think is garrett hedlund but i'm not sure.  we made eye contact (only because i was staring at him like a weirdo, do i know him?). he has a conversation with the waitress.  pays for his food and leaves (in a different state license plate rental- a highlander or some sort of car).

after he leaves, the waitress says, "is he famous? he comes in here all the time.  his name is garrett hedlund."

i tell the waitress, "he is not really famous but kirsten dunst is his girlfriend."  he's also currently in on the road.  he looks like a regular dude, i'm sure he doesn't get noticed at all.

he was in that gwyneth paltrow country movie..

wedding weekend

last weekend we were in LA for my brothers wedding.  it was so wonderful.  a magical day. will post more later.

when i read the article, my old coworker's brother (he's a professor of architecture at ucla) is on the board of this thing and is part of the article? anyway, this is exciting!

i'm trying to make a best of los angeles guide for our out of town guests. i have the museums, in & out, disneyland. i was wondering if any of you had any things to do, where to eat, sort of recommendations?

i hoped that i would see someone famous. we saw tila tequila at LAX. then tom arnold was on our plane to maui. next day we ate lunch near nicky hilton and family. yesterday, adam and i hung out at the beach for a little bit before dinner. some people were having a conversation right next to our chairs. i look over and it's paris hilton's dad and boyfriend. then i see paris. i notice that she matches her sunnies to her swimsuit. the picture below is the day we saw her.

i hope when we are in la we will see someone more of my liking and not d-listers. :)

on our last day in LA we went to the dennis hopper exhibit at the MOCA. little tokyo was having some sort of festival which had a lot of weirdo's ended up being the Nisei week festival. anyway the exhibit was pretty cool and we ran into jason (the hopper fan) and mavis.

cake tasting at vanilla bake shop

we went cake tasting at vanilla bake shop in santa monica. have you been to the new santa monica place? the place is a week old so we opted to skip this time. well anyhoo, cake tasting was pretty fun. we tried raspberry black & white, vanilla bean, strawberries & cream, and red velvet. i stupidly ate a cupcake before our tasting and everything was really sweet although i licked all the cream off the plate. are vanilla bake shop cupcake's famous?
