Boston Rain

It started pouring this afternoon in Boston. I figured it couldn't stay raining hard forever so we started our trek (about two blocks) to the subway. We got to the subway pretty wet but not enough to ruin our spirits. Due to weather problems, some of the subways were taken out of service. It delayed our trip back to the hotel quite a bit. After four subway changes (normally would take one only) we got off at our exit. It was pouring. There wasn't much we could do but run to the hotel about five blocks away. We got so drenched I couldn't help laughing. It was pretty fun running in the rain looking crazy... Adam was not thrilled since his blackberry got wet and he has a ton of work contacts he has to get back...We did not look ask cute as Spike and Michelle on our walk home and we had to change in the hotel bathroom (because we checked out that morning). That part was pretty awful. :)

Cape Cod

Yesterday we took a ninety minute ferry from Boston to Cape Cod..Bye Bye Boston...
We had brunch at Devan's in a town called Provincetown. Smoked salmon plate for me.
Adam had the mozzarella, tomato, basil omelette.
We hung out collecting rocks and sea shells on the beach...

Checked out homes...
Had homemade ice cream at Lewis'...
Made sure we ordered more oysters...
Fish and Chips and beer..
We picked up a malasades (Portuguese fried dough) for the ferry ride back home...

Good-bye Cape Cod!

T.W. Foods

Dinner at TW Foods in Cambridge was a perfect ending to our trip to Massachusetts. The food was wonderful, nice ambience, we were seated in my opinion, the best seat in the house looking towards the other dinner guests.
Adam ordered the Sardinian Culurzoni pasta as a starter (braised pork, red russian kale, herb brown butter).
My creme brulee foie gras...
Pan-seared sea scallops with red beets, almonds, apricots and red russian kale...
My halibut entree.. was so delicious! It is a local halibut with moroccan chickpea and bean salad, preserved lemon and radicchio.
Our entire meal was fantastic but I would have to say that the highlight was my dessert. So many wonderful things to choose from, I ended up getting the most unique item - Scotch and Cigars. It is dark chocolate mousse, tobacco-infused creme, anglaise blvenie 12 year single malt scotch syrup. Sounds really complicated but it was cigar infused ice cream (really soothing and quite wonderful..), hot beignet donuts and a great chocolate sauce for dipping. I practically licked the whole plate.

Boston day four

There are two baby head sculpture's in front of the Museum of Fine Arts. Not sure what message the artist was trying to convey...
Lunch at the Museum restaurant. I ordered the sangria. The waitress convinced me that the full carafe was a better deal (drinking in the afternoon).
My $17 lentil salad with chicken. It was pretty good though...

Kara Walker
This was a collage of works by kids in the Boston area..
What this kid did was really interesting I thought. "Do you legally own a home?"

A Picasso...

the Ray and Maria Stata Center by Frank Gehry. It was funded by the Strata's as well as Bill Gates.. really interesting building. I wonder if Gehry will be in the likes of Gaudi in the future?

Craigie on Main

Tonight we had reservations at a Cambridge restaurant called Craigie on Main. They has a ten course menu and a six course menu as well as the regular entree and appetizers. We opted for the six course menu.amuse bouche (squid noodle, cured fish, fish pate with caviar)
rabbit ravioli. soo deliscious!
Tile fish flown overnight from Australia
Sweet breads and poached egg
Lamb cooked two ways (the one on the right is lamb tongue). We had a dessert course too but I was mad at Adam and did not take photo's (ricotta cheesecake and berry grits).
