cornerstop and design poster

this poster was the initial inspiration for my project. a cornershop poster in our bedroom.

this is the final poster i turned in today.  our teacher has a interesting way of doing critiques.  a person picks a poster they like, discusses what they like/what they would change about it and then the person will explain their project and then pick the next project.  i think it is a great way of critiquing.  i was pretty nervous today because i usually get called on pretty early in the game but today I was picked somewhere in the middle. nerves.

a boy in class said the white space bothers him. i might of gotten a little defensive.  another boy said that he liked the space and understood what i was saying.  i think the open space is interesting. what the hell does that kid know. he has a justin bieber hairdo. i kid. a little.

stranger in the night

Last night I wake up to Adam at our bedroom window, flashing lights outside, voices at 3:00am. Adam is surprised I hadn't woken up earlier. 

I was watching sex and the city in the bedroom before going to sleep that evening.  Adam was sleepy so I made him nap in the living room while I finished watching my dvds (i'm mean).  Adam fell asleep in the living room couch and woke up later to some tapping/thumping/banging. He assumed it was me going to the bathroom.  He keeps hearing the sound and notices a person at the front the door.  At first he thought it was just some kids coming to take our Halloween pumpkins, but the person(s) are lingering there.  He freaks out and calls the police from the bathroom.  The Mount Pleasant police arrive pretty quickly.  It turns out to be just one drunk and confused guy.  They ask the guy, "do you live here?"  He grunts "yes."  They ask for identification.  They escort the guy from the porch to the sidewalk, and an officer informs Adam that they are going to send this drunk individual to the hospital.  A few minutes later an ambulance arrives to take the guy to the hospital.  The officer nicely brings our Sunday New York Times from the sidewalk to the front porch.  Adam says "thank you" to the officer.  I hope the drunk guy is okay and has insurance.

watercolor a day

i am going to try and do a simple watercolor a day. I am pretty terrible at it still but i am determined to find a talent/skill somewhere.

on a totally different note.. i finished off the leftover halloween candy.  i was the one responsible for giving the children candy on sunday and because of my addiction to reeses peanut buttercups i kept them in the bottom of the basket.  i went to the market to restock the pantry but i would probably eat those too so i am going to go clean. i will admit to adam i ate two big bags of halloween reeses peanut buttercups all by myself.  i am gross.

Project 4

what do you think? eye-catching?  i have to do a few edits in class tomorrow.

we only have a little over a month left of class.  i really enjoyed the class and am going to miss it. the teacher was very organized and knowledgeable.  i think i will spring for illustrator...

i've never won anything in my life. i lied. once i played bingo during a visit to japan. i won soy sauce and my grandma bought it from me for 500 yen.

anywho, baggu's facebook page has been doing these kind of awesome giveaways. i commented two times before.  the last giveaway i felt a little cheated because the winner had a similar idea but i commented first. haha sore loser?

 i won baggu pouches! i lost one of my pouches during our trip to finland so i can replace it now. i'm a little neurotic in weird ways (i hate pens with missing caps, etc).  i was also thinking of adding it to our out-of-town wedding guest bags. i haven't decided what to include but the pouches would be the perfect pop of color, right?
