bananas foster

I will write about our trip soon... unless you follow me on instagram (I went pretty crazy).  I even annoyed myself with my photos (sorry).  I think of it as a journal taking/making.. so I am reminded of my time there.

The food in New Orleans is soooo good.  But you know if it tastes good, it is probably bad for you.  I am really bad at eating healthy and really good at choosing the wrong thing.  My new obsesssion of this trip was 1. fried oysters (so good) and 2. bananas foster.  Have you ever had bananas foster?

I dunno exactly what it is.  I think you cook a sauce with bananas.  I got a french toast version and a cheesecake version.  Anyway, I cannot wait to bake a bananas foster cheesecake for our next dinner guests.

birthdays

ugh, so my 32nd year came and went. i'm 33. i hate it. i'm so old. scott said you are only old as you feel. yes i feel old. happy birthday to me.

in other "news" i joined a gym (finally) a few weeks ago. i needed to. i'm really fat. totally still in denial though. i pick up the same size as a few years ago and shocked when it doesn't fit. one good thing about being fat is that you don't buy clothes (cause they look awful).

oops went off on a tangent.. i gained weight even after i joined the gym. does that happen? i am five feet six inches and 150lbs. that is 12lbs more than the fattest i haver ever been.

Day Two:

We had rain all day... making day two a museum day. today we went to the pompidou and picasso museum. it was really exciting to see paintings studied in high school in real life. picasso's blue period was so gorgeous. the pompidou had a special exhibit of alexander calder and kandinsky.

In between the two museums, we had lunch at L'as du Falafel in the french jewish quarter. It was sooo good.
