Nottingham Castle

today i decided to visit near by nottingham castle.



here are the steps to get to the castle









Robin Hood. Nottingham is home of tales of Robinhood. Speaking of Robinhood, I went to a conference dinner a few days ago and the guest of honer was the sheriff of Nottingham. The dinner was quite entertaining. We sat next to the group from Japan that consisted of two Egyptians.


Ye Olde Trip to Jeruselum. Apparently it is Britian's oldest pub dating back to the 1189AD.

day three nottingham

today adam slept in (skipping morning conference)so we had lunch together at the blue bell pub in downtown nottingham. i had the fish and chips with mushy peas and adam ordered the bangers and mash.



the day's activity consisted of going to the windmill of George Green's Windmill. Green was a famous mathematician who lived in Nottingham. He was a miller who did math on the side and became very famous..

we are allowed to go into the mill to discover how he turned wheat into flour.

this is the old market square. they used to have public hangings here back in the day.

english breakfast

yummy english breakfast. our hotel serves breakfast every morning. adam and i had breakfast together before he went to the conference today.


i am walking behind adam last night on our way to dinner. it was raining hard and it was very cold.

Nottingham, England

i'm in our hotel in nottingham updating my blog. the first part of our travels was pretty difficult.



which included:

3 hour flight to dallas

4 hour wait in dallas

9+ flight to london

taking the tube to the train station

two hour, two part train ride (without seats!) on the train from london to nottinham

what a pretty dress

allison got engaged a few month's ago. she's in town visiting with friends and i got to hang out with her this saturday. i asked about the details on her wedding dress. she had a bride magazine from 2006 that had the dress she wanted to wear. she decided to go to a sample sale for that designer and she found the dress! isn't that exciting?

i told adam i wanted a cartier but he says i'm getting a tiffany. :/
